More Online Offerings Available!

You may have noticed that we now have 2 new webinars available: Habitat Site Restoration and Mitigation: Creating a Restoration Plan, and Habitat Site Restoration and Mitigation: Implementing a Successful Restoration Program.

We’re really happy to have these posted, because for some time now, people have been asking when we were going to hold more Habitat Restoration courses. Since those requests came from all over the country, we decided to make these offerings available online so that people everywhere could take part. And feedback from attendees of our Ecological Risk Assessment webinars let us know that for many, training is more accessible when there’s no need to travel, and only a portion of the day is devoted to training. In addition, the webinar sessions are all recorded and the recordings are made available to paid registrants. So, if someone registers but has to miss a session or part of a session, they can always download it and catch up.

Speaking of downloading webinar recordings, and of the Ecological Risk Assessment course, the recordings of those webinar sessions will soon be available for purchase! So if you didn’t know about the series (Introduction to ERA, and Advanced ERA), or couldn’t make it when we hosted it in March, you’ll be able to listen and get all the same information that the course attendees did.

We’re also working on several other online course options that will be posted in the coming weeks. As a sneak peek, here is a list of a few that we’ll be posting soon (titles may change):

  • Facilitating remote meetings
  • EPA Unified Guidance
  • CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act)
  • NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act
  • Applying Lean/Six Sigma Principles to Environmental Projects
  • …and more!

An easy way to see what online courses are already available is to visit our Chronological Course Listing page, click the “State” dropdown menu just above the first listed course, and choose “Online”. Right now, the two Habitat Restoration and Mitigation courses are the only options listed. Of course, you can also choose any state near you and see what live courses are available there as well.

We’re definitely looking for feedback from you regarding what courses you’d like to see us add, and which of those you’d like to see as online options. So if you have suggestions, please add them to the comments below, or email them to info@nwetc.org.

Thanks again for following our progress as we move more into the online training realm, and continue to develop valuable, relevant material for both live and online audiences!
